FAQ
How do you provide your services?
My services are provided at a distance via video calls, as well as through document review, video analysis, and ongoing support between meetings. With years of experience working remotely, I’ve developed efficient methods to guide teams through creative, technical, and administrative processes — without being in the gym, at competitions, or on site.
Do I need to have years of experience to work with you?
Not at all. I work with techs at every level whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your approach after a few seasons. If you care about helping performers grow and want to feel more confident in how you teach, I can help you get there. No egos, no pressure just practical, supportive growth.
How do I handle students with different levels in the same block?
This is one of the most common challenges, and I love helping with it. I’ll help you design blocks that allow for layered learning so your more advanced members can grow without leaving beginners behind. You’ll also learn how to differentiate corrections so every performer feels seen, supported, and pushed at the right level.
What if I struggle with confidence or feel like I’m just repeating what others do?
You’re not alone. Many techs start by imitating what they’ve seen but eventually want to develop their own voice. That’s where I come in. Together, we’ll work on building your clarity, confidence, and leadership so you can own your role and contribute in a way that feels authentic and effective.
Can you help me transition from performer to instructor?
Yes and it’s one of my favorite transitions to support. Teaching is a different skill than performing, and that shift can feel overwhelming. I’ll help you understand what changes, what stays the same, and how to take everything you’ve learned on the floor and turn it into tools for others. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Hi, my name is Cynthia Bernard
Guard has always been part of my life: I live and breathe Color Guard and Drum Corps. I’ve been fortunate to grow alongside some of the best in our activity. Coming from Canada, I’ve also learned to be resourceful, creative, and resilient in the face of limited access. These lessons shaped the way I support others in reaching their highest potential.
